About this course

This course is designed to familiarize learners with the new features and changes in SUSE Linux Enterprise (SLE) 16 compared to SLE 15. This course introduces the high-level goals for SLE 16 along with the changes to both the High Availability stack and SLES for SAP applications. The Agama Linux installation service is introduced and then used  to configure and deploy SLE 16. The new system management tools, mandatory access control security framework and network management tool are introduced and explored.

  • This course is intended for deployment engineers, system architects, and system administrators who need to understand the new features of SUSE Linux Enterprise 16 family and the major changes from SLES 15.

At course completion, you will:

  • Identify the key goals and supported architectures for SUSE Linux Enterprise 16.
  • Understand the new, updated and obsolete features and components of SLE 16.
  • Learn how to deploy SLES 16 using the Agama Linux installer service and access the system remotely during the deployment.
  • Explore Cockpit, a web-based tool for remote system management.
  • Understand the key configuration options for SELinux, the new mandatory access control framework in SLE 16.
  • Understand how to use Network Manager to configure and manage network devices and connections.
